problems with brakes.

I recently took my fj in for a noise i heard from the front brakes. the pedel was getting spongy a few weeks prior. with 30,000 miles i thought posably i was due for a break job. (i thought wrong!!!). evidently with all the off road trips and the races Ive chased for, there has been a big build up of metal flake on the sensors in the braking system.. causing different effects

1 spongy brakes
2 only certain brakes working (causing self lane changes)

has anyone else had simmilar problems?????????

I had this brake problem more than one time... went to the dealer they could not solve the problem. I am always nervous when applying the brakes. Also , sometimes when braking at low speed , like when braking for a stop light ,the truck acts like it had recieved a panic message i.e. braking very hard.......

I've took mine in twice for brakes. As you stated the pedal would feel "spongy" and sometimes you would wonder if you were going to be able to stop or not. First time they turned the rotors, that worked for a week or two. Second time I got new rotors, pads, & calipers. No problems to report as of yet. Now the pedal is firm and will throw you through the windshield if you apply the brakes hard.
