2010 Toyota Fj Cruiser Changes

The following is a list of changes for the upcoming 2010 Fj Cruiser including new color, engine and fuel economy:

New Color: Army Green replaces VooDoo Blue. (May have to get one to park next to my 72)

New 4.0L V6 Dual VVT-I engine
  • adds 20 horsepower from 239HP to 259HP
  • Reduces torque from 278 LBS-FT to 270 LBS-FT ( to an avid 4wheeler I don't like that because anyone who's ever been stuck in the mud or does any climbing knows Torque Rules!)
Improved EPA estimated Fuel Economy
4x2 Auto 16/20 to 17/22 MPG
4x4 Auto 16/20 to 17/21 MPG
4x4 Manual 15/18 to 15/19 MPG

It is interesting to note that the the above numbers are using 87 octane fuel. The 2010 FJ Cruiser won't require 91 octane unleaded

Improved Turning Radius
41.8 to 40.7 FT

Larger Windshield washer Bottle
4.5 to 4.8 Liters

Trail Team badged Special Edition (September to January Production)
  • Sandstorm Exterior Color (Including the roof)
  • Exterior Color Matched fabric seat inserts, door trim inserts and IP.
  • Hood Blackout, Blackout Mirrors Bumper ends, rear tow hitch cover, door handles, grille
  • TRD Bead-lock Style Alloy Wheels with BFgoodrich A/T P265/75R16 Tires
  • Trail equipped including Bilstein shocks, Cyclone air pre cleaner, Multi-information display floating ball type (inclinometer, compass, temperature). Rock Rails, Front and Rear Skid Plates
  • Garmn PND with Trail Maps (Topographic)
Nice to see Toyota improving the FJ and makes you hope the rumors of it's demise are untrue. Time will tell.

Hmmm. I wonder what this Army green will look like, maybe Canteen Green like my Titan?

What would be really cool is if they put one of their diesel motors in it. Better mileage and more towing power. I wish they would have that as an option.

Well, to see possible 2010 FJC models mentioned is reassuring ...although I do love the one I have...ARMY GREEN huh...Olive Drab is the Technical name...I'll stick with my Sun Fusion.

I think a green FJ will be cool. I know that the old FJ's had blue, gold, white and green and the green is the best looking of the 4 IMO.

Last month I almost bought a wrecked 08 with rear body damage. I was going to repaint it Olive Drab, now I'll just have one the easy way. I think that color should have been out from the start.
