Travel Trailer Towing

Last summer I bought a little 14' Trillium that needed a quite a bit of work. Toyota installed the hitch and the wiring harness with a 4 prong plug. They messed up the installation and didn't put the relay in which required a second visit.

I ended up trading in the little trailer for a new 19' JayFlight. Christie's RV in Sault Ste Marie upgraded the wiring to the full 7 prong plug with a brake controller.

My advise would be to go to a reputable RV dealer and get a hitch and wiring package if you intend on pulling a Travel Trailer.

The 7 prong plug is the standard wiring harness for a Travel Trailer and will convert to a 4 prong using a pigtail harness.

I'm looking for a good set of towing mirrors and would appreciate a link.

Squid,

I saw the same FJ Airstream combo just a couple weeks back. Looked like it was working ok for him, but I wouldn' t want to pull it through the mountains. It is much easier pulling my little 12' Scamp around - I hardly realize it is back there and don't need any mirror extensions at all. There's something to be said about going smaller.
