 Rear Diff Breather Mod The first ever post here! Cool!  I am not so sure those engineers at Toyota haven't thought about this. I read a post for the mod http://www.wattora.com/mods/diffbreather/. It appears to me that the breather is more like a one way valve and not a vent (or breather) as such. In this article they mention a vacuum that was created in the diff. Has anyone read anything from or asked Toyota about this subject? I would really hate it if this mod voided my warranty.

| We've been doing these types of Mods on vehicles that go in water for years. The funny thing is I don't remember ever, ever, ever, remember hearing of someone ever actually loosing a rear end due to water. When you consider that the rear end lube is 80W to 140W you have to ask yourself how the water would hurt anything since it's a lot lighter then the lube? |
