Extended shock specs

Does anyone have a source for a list of shock sizes from stock to extended for off-road applications?

For instance: I know that with a 3" Tuff Country lift kit you also need to buy 26" shocks to replace the 22.25" stock shocks.

But what if you wanted to use another brand, like Monroe, who only list stock replacements. I guess what I'm asking is, how do you determine the correct off-road application when there is no off-road listing?

Does this make sense to anyone but me?

Ok, the recommendation by the lift mfgr is 26" gas shock for a 2 to 3 inch lift, and 28 or 29" for a four to six inch lift. I installed the Tuff Country 3" kit and the 26" gas shocks. Rides pretty good, but gotta take it in for alignment.

Ok, here's the pics of the install. Soon as I get a chance I'll get some pics of the vehicle outside. I's been raining quite a bit here lately.

Looks great. Are you going to go with larger tires? Not that you should, because it looks good the way it is.

I had planned on mounting a set of 33s, but I ran out of do-re-me. Maybe next year. I am looking at a package that includes tires and wheels mounted and balanced for $1600. I think that's a bargain.
