Hauling the Airstream

I have a 2008 FJ auto transmition. Bought it new last year. I used it on a cross country trip pulling my Airstream Bambi. Total weight on the trailer was about 4500lbs. I drive it easy when pulling the trailer. My questions are:
- after 4k or so miles pulling that much weight, should I change the transmition oil?
- Is the tranny in the FJ tough enough to take a couple trips like that a year?
The engine power was just fine for the job. Loving my FJ....Max

Changing both the engine oil, and tranny oil, after a towing trip is always a good idea. With fresh fluids, it will be able to make as many trips as you want to. I've only got 28,000 miles on mine, with no towing, so I haven't looked into how to change the tranny fluid. But assuming it's like most trucks, Changing the filter and fluid should be able to be done in the driveway, for a very reasonable cost. Evan if a shop does it, it's cheaper than a rebuild.

Damn, didn't know the Bambi weighed that much! My Scamp only weighs about 900 lbs. I do not do anything extra with mine - just regular maintenance timetables, but with yours, I would go with Brian's suggestion.
