VSC TRAC problem - lighting the dash!

Hello
I have an 07 4wd 5 speed auto
yesterday the dash lit with the following: check engine,VSC TRAC, VSC off, and trac control icon.

From the little I've found it sounds like this may indicate 02 sensor problem.

My question is... can I safely drive the car for a few days until I get this taken care of ?

thx for the help!

Howdy berz! You wouldn't have by chance just fueled up recently? The reason I ask is because this sounds like a loose gas cap error. Go out and make sure it's on tight and see if the lights go off. If not, you can go to an Autozone and they'll pull the code for free so you'll know if it's safe to drive or not.

Welcome to the site and don't be shy!

Had the same problem. First time with 10,275 miles on after-market locking gas cap. (Brilliant Toyota does not offer a locking gas cap or locking fill door...why ???)
Dealer re-set code. Said it was the cap.

Does anyone know the re-set steps - I was told them once by the dealer but I can't remember.

Hmmmm .... since this is an issue for a lot of people, you'd think that it wouldn't be too much to ask for them to put a "LOOSE GAS CAP" icon on the dash .

Just my .02 worth .... your mileage may vary.

Guys - since I had my last incident, it has not happened again, and I have NOT changed out the after-market locking gas cap. So it may have been that I just didn't tighten it enough one time.
