Wiper motor question

My 74 fj wiper motor is new but I think overheating. It got very hot and stopped working so I unplugged it. I think the wires coming from the engine that plug into the four prong wire off the wiper motor might be sequenced wrong. Any suggestions?

the wiper motors changed in 75, make sure you have the right year. 74 or older. you might want to look at getting a used one, as they last pretty much forever.

The wiring diagram is not hard to find. You could get a FSM, a Chiltons, a Haynes or google it. It's out there. Does it work in all positions?
