| Steering Got a 1975 FJ40 and everything else seems to be fine but the steering is out of control. I would like to do away with the original system and put something else in, but not sure what is out there. As noted, I am new to this world of FJ's and have limited knowledge on websites or groups out there. Anyone done any kind of steering conversion and are happy with it? Would love to hear ideas. KB |

| KB, Do you happen to have the manual? I think that all of the moving parts are adjustable (and rebuild-able). I'd have to go dig out my books to be sure. If the bushings in the spring shackles are worn out, that will cause funky steering. I would try adjusting/checking/lubricating everything involved first. Then go back and look at replacing the obviously bad stuff. John |
