Rear License Plate Holder for FJ40 I purchased a tailgate from Cool Cruisers and took the top off my FJ40. There is no place for a rear license plate to be mounted. Texas law requires a rear plate that must be lighted. Any ideas on how and where to mount the license plate?? Thanks

If you get the stock bracket LAND CRUISER FJ40 REAR LICENSE PLATE BRACKET 1969-2/74 Parts - DragTimes.com you can mount it to either the bumper or the tail gate like stock.

FJ40 License Plate Thanks for the response. Sorry for the delayed reply. I don't know about Texas being "liberal" with regard to the rear plate. I don't think law enforcement condones not having a rear plate, or not having it lighted. Right now I have the plate wired to the bumper. Believe it or not, I've seen DWI cases where the probable cause for the stop was: "License plate light not working;" "License plate light too dim;" and, "License Plate light too bright." I guess they are going to "find" probable cause no matter what you do. I think I'll go ahead and drill holes in the tailgate and mount the plate and light on it.
