| Tranny/TC Linkage Hello all, I've owned a 69 FJ40 for about 20 years now. I bought her in AZ as a running stock FJ with no rust and the only bondo I've ever found is about palm size just behind the driver on the rear tub. It's been an excellent vehicle over the years. In past years I transplanted a carburated chevy 350 into her (orig 3spd tranny/TC). About 5 years ago the 3spd tranny gave out and I decided it was time to modify her again. This time with a TB 350 chevy, 700R4 tranny and a 4spd Toy TC, plus power/telescoping steering, and rear disk brakes (front already disk). About this same time I started building our home and my FJ has been dry-docked ever since. Basically got her all torn down and then started the house. This past year I decided if I couldn't find time to finish her it as time to sell her. I had her advertised for a while at $5K but with the current economy and it needing to be completed I didn't get any takers (yea!). The other day I re-listed her for $3500 and several interests contacted me. Made me think I just couldn't give her away for $3500 so I'm considering keeping her and trying to find time to work on her little by little. With all that said I need the Advance Adapters adapter to mate the 700R4 to the 4 spd Toy TC, and I need to see if anyone has any idea on how to create the shifting linkage for the 700R4 and the 4 spd TC (I'm assuming I'm not going to find someone that builds this particular linkage setup that I can just buy). Other than that I have most of the other parts and pieces to do the job. Thanks for any assistance you can give. Ward Ft Collins, CO. |
