| '08 Transmission HELP!!! So, I purchased a used CLEAN, 28,000 miles young, '08 FJ with the 6 Speed transmission. It is a trail teams edition and in perfect shape so I bought it from the dealer. I ended up taking it back shortly thereafter for a squeal coming from the throw-out bearing. They replaced the bearing and when I picked up the truck I immediately noticed that it is stiff shifting in the lower gears particularly between 1 and 2. Sometimes to the point where I have to almost force it into gear to a grind. I also put the clutch in at an intersection to find the car lurch forward into the intersection with the clutch engaged. I took it back to the dealer and had them check to see if there was air in the slave cylinder. I got it back and it is still hard shifting when it is cold. Especially on the down shift. I can't even downshift into 1st. It almost seems as if there is a problem with the syncros gears. The other issue that has come up...when it is really cold out, I will start the car in neutral and let the clutch out and the car lurches forward a few inches. What is going on here? Any thoughts? |
