| "69" FJ40 Owner
Hi Everyone,
50 50 bar here. 50 50 bar is the color scheme I’m going to paint my 69 FJ40. I have been riding and racing dirt bikes since the mid 60s and four wheeling since the mid 70s. I just retired as a member of the Montrose Search and Rescue team. I was with this unit for 30 years. As a member I have been over almost every road and trail in the Angeles National Forest and a lot of them in the San Bernardino National Forest and the Mojave Desert.
I bought this FJ40 from my brother in-law. He had taken this rig over most of the major runs in the west for over 20 years. He had only rolled it once, not on the trail but on the Golden State Freeway (I-5) in Burbank. After a new used frame and a quick rebuild it was back on the trail.
I look forward to getting into this rig and building it up to my style. It is basically stock with the straight six and original brakes. Actually the only changes are a 4” lift, four speed trans, Lock-Right in the rear and a second fuel tank. As I start the modifications on my FJ40, I’m sure I will be looking to this Form for suggestions and advice.
