FJ Rental available in San Diego

Hi! I just joined in. I was doing a web search to see if anyone in San Diego rents FJ's. I have one now, which is an '07, yellow one fully loaded. I am considering getting another vehicle and was thinking about occasionally renting out my FJ, because it won't be my primary vehicle anymore. I saw a posting of someone looking for an FJ rental in San Diego with a possibility of taking it accross the border. I am open to renting mine out, but would need to know that the person renting it would have the insurance available to cover any damages if something happened to it while they rented the vehicle. MY FJ will be getting new tires soon, and can be rented for 3 days through 1 month. It currently has apx 36,000 miles. If anyone is interested, please e-mail me.

Has anyone done this successfully in other markets? Renting out your personal vehicle?

Just my opinion, but I wouldn't consider buying a rental, let alone renting one I already own. Ever see how rentals are treated?

I am not sure I am going to do this or not. I thought I would put the idea out there to see what kind of response I get back. My thought on this is that there are not many SUV rentals available, and an FJ is such a fun car, that perhaps someone would want to rent it for a period of time. If I am not using it anymore as a primary vehicle, then why not make a little $ from it. I am not suggesting that I would sell the vehicle, or that I would purchase a rental. Just like people sometimes rent out their vacation homes, my thought would be to rent out my FJ if I am not using it all the time.
