Red face New guy on block with stereo/speaker questions.. Help????

Hello all... Glad there is a forum out there for the FJC. Just bought late model 2008 and have so many plans. First will be the stock stereo. Have heard so many things but want the skinny on what really does come stock from Toyota. I went with the cheapest sound system I could get knowing that I was going to upgrade as soon as I got it home. I was told that the FJ's are all prewired, first, is that true. And if not, which positions are not. Second, wish to do as much as I can with the existing receiver which is the most basic of all, and concentrate on only speakers first and then receiver last. Is it simple to change out two dash 3 inch speakers? Can door speakers be changed out easily without taking off the whole door panels? Tell me about these rear pillar positions... I need help and recomendations. Stock system seems to have very simple single disk cd/receiver setup, two dash speakers, two door speakers, and a funny overhead speaker in the liner. Wow, so many questions for a first post. Sorry, but yes I need your help. I haven't taken anything apart yet to look as I dont want to snap anything that may be oneway..

Thanks, Rico

I aslo have been told the Toyota prewires for everything. I bought a FJ manual CD on Ebay for $12.00, worth every dime. It is a Toyota manual and very detailed, very helpfull when disassembling, and with wiring diagrams. The door speakers will be very easy to change. Door panels will have to be removed, takes about 2 minutes each. 2 screws behind the pull, 1 pin in the front, just push in at the center to release, then pull out. Then just give a tug on the panel itself, it will snap out. I was nervous the first time, but it will work. Good luck.
