New Cruiser Owner

Hello Everyone,

I bought my Cruiser(Trail Team Special Edition) 2 weeks ago today. I have to say I absolutely love it, but I am scared to drive it. In the past two weeks, I have lost control of my brakes on 3 separate occasions. I seem to hear a craking/clanking noise and then my breaks lose power(meaning petal gets soft). I have to say, it has freaked me out. I have taken it to the dealer once, but they say there is nothing wrong. I will be taking it in again on Monday and we will see. I read some of the other blogs on brakes and have printed them so I can take them with me to show the dealer. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

I haven't experienced your exact problem, but the brakes on our FJ was crap from the day we brought it home. At times it would feel as the pedal would get spongy and you didn't know if you'd be able to stop or not. I've never heard any creaking or clanking. I took it back to the dealership and had them look over the braking system on my first oil changed. They stated that there was too much run-out and they adjusted them out and they work fine for a couple of weeks. Then the same thing started happening again. Took it back for the second time due to brakes and told them to swap out all 4 rotors and to replace the brake pads. Now I'm slinging myself through the windshield every time I drive.
