| Advice on K&N Air filter Spoke to my toyota service rep when I got my first service about the K&N air filter. He off-roads and told me that when you clean the K&N filter there is some sort of grease you put on it after cleaning it. He told me that if even a small amount of grease gets on one of the many sensors in the engine that are positioned near the filter, you could be looking at major bucks to fix the sensors. Hence he recommended against the K&N. |

| That would be the Mass Air Flow(MAF) sensor and yes it does happen but if it does it's simple to clean. The Fram Air Hog drop in air filter solves this problem of over oiling by changing colors when you oil it so you never put too much on. I had one on my Nissan Titan and gained 1 mpg with it. |
