| Newby with a Forty Shorty! Hi Guys and Girls, Just joined the site after recently buying a stock 1979 FJ40 SWB Hardtop. Looking at doing a ground up rebuild to pretty much original specs, and have started already! Not new to the Toyota Four Wheel Drive family, with just having parted with my 1994 FZJ80 GXL wagon after 8 years of reliable motoring, and currently owning a 2008 120 series Prado. | I too will be starting on a resto but of a 72 FJ-40. This will be my second time. The first time I did a stock resto and was very unhappy with the results because there are a lot of stock parts that suck on these things so this time I'm going V8, A/C, disc brakes and I'm still researching the tranny/transfer case part of the beast. |
