Question 2008 FJ Cruiser - Problems/Issues?

Hey,

I am about to end my current lease and I am looking at the 2008 FJ Cruiser for my next vehicle. I test drove one last night and loved it.

I am curious have any of you experienced any problems with the vehicle?

Seems to be only two real issues that everyone complains about, and they are negligable. 1) Visibility in the rear of the vehicle especially the blind spot on the side window area, and the rear window is very restrictive. People who are motivated can overcome the visibilty problems. 2) Some people like to jump into their new FJ and go off-roading right away. That's cool, but...and its a BIG BUT... they fail to consider wheel clearance issues. The FJ comes factory new with 9.6" of ground clearance, but there is only 4.5" in the front wheel well. If you bottom out abruptly, those big tires will push the the plastic rock guard wheel well liners up enough to pooch out the fenders. Toyota will NOT warranty that kind of damage. If off-roading is on your mind, you should really consider installing a suspension lift kit of at least three inches or more. It'll save you a lot of grief later on.

Regarding the TRD Quickshifter recommendation...is it because it reduces the throws? Please go into more detail - thanks.
