unfortunately-there is not a way to turn the d.r.l. off-unless if you cut into the wiring-but tha isintergrated to the e.c.u- may cause problems. I work at a toyota dealer-if you want a e.w.d. i can get it foryou....

Just had this done @ 5200 miles at my dealer yesterday for the price of $49.50. Also had the rotors turned down and front and rear pads replaced. The rotors had to much run-out. Squealing like a greased pig when you barely applied the brakes. But all is good in FJ land now.

Changing oil at 1st 500 miles...reminded me of what my dad told me to do and I have done ever since. He said that iron filings and other junk get down in the engine from the manufacturing process, and that the 1st oil change should be within a couple tanks of gas. I don't know if he's was right about this - he grew up in the 1940's and I guess things were different then.

When I tell people this, they look at me like I'm from another planet (especially my daughter who just bought her 1st new car).

I was pleased to see someone else doing the first O/F change at 500 miles!
