Towing question

I'm new here and looking to make my first purchase...probably a 78 or newer. This is just a vehicle I would use to take hunting or fishing (giving up my second Escalade EXT...17K on it) The biggest question is how do these tow? Nothing to big ..a 21' bass boat (alum Lund) reason I ask I owned a K-Blazer long time ago and because of the short wheel base it was a joke...who's towin who? Also I would be making pretty long trips to different states/provinces for hunting...some times 1000 miles What is a realistic highway speed....I have a heavy foot and know that will have to end This is a dramatic change I just want to make sure Im not kidding myself

What's the combined weight of boat and trailer? But realisitc is probably no more then 100KPh to 110Kph tops, depending on engine rating, gearing and tires.

it depends on whether you go up hill or not. the problem will be that you need to downshift on hills and will lose speed. think of your truck going uphill into a headwind with a boat on the back trying to hold fourth gear as being like boat with an outboard with too big a propeller trying to get to wide open throttle and only able to make it to 75%. luckily you can downshift in a truck but the analogy is completely sound otherwise.

What if you turned the boat around and headed for Goodbye Island?

Great. Now I know for a fact that that isn't the problem. I'll hit up 80s tech for the rest of the answers that I know are wrong.

We're just assuming you either checked them wrong or blew out the wrong jets.

We know who we're dealing with here.

Semlin buys fully restored bikes. He wouldn't know an idle circuit if it sucked his dick.

What? semlin has over a dozen project bikes in his basement and has never bought a restored one ever that I know of.
