Should I?

Hello to all,

I do not own a FJ… yet. I am at the point of doing research and seeing what kind of community is out there for support. I have not owned an older vehicle before so I am a bit hesitant to jump right in and be over my head. I am looking for a pre 1980 BJ or FJ. I want this for my daily driver so I am not looking to drop in a 350, was actually thinking of converting to bio-diesel… thoughts on that?

There are a few questions that I have for those who would like to respond.

I would like to see if there are any places I could look to purchase a FJ other than craigslist or ebay. Any ideas?

How is the availability of parts? Is there a pretty stable market for it or will I have to search for something that is relatively common?

Any other tips or comments will be much appreciated. Thanks!

Do you like wrenching? Do you know anything about carburators, ponts, condensors and own a timing light? If not, then these probably aren't for you. If you said yes then you won't find a better vehicle to restore and own, nor a better experience. This post has a bunch of links to get your feet wet and I'll be here forever (I own the site) to help. http://www.toyotafjcruiserforums.com/2170-post2.html
