| OBD II scanner will not work on 08 FJ? Hi, New Member here. My 2008 FJ had it's maint. light came on at 5000 miles. Didn't know what it was for but I do now. Anyway I hooked up my Actron OBD II scanner to see what it was and it would not work with my 2008 FJ? Works just fine on my 2001 Highlander. Anybody have this trouble? Toyota changing the system? I thought all the manufactures have to be compliant with OBD II which means anyone can hook up their scanners. I do know that the hand held scanners will not show you as much as the scanners at the dealer but I should be able to view the codes, rpms, IAT, Oxygen sensors etc. Any thoughts? |

| That's because you now need a OBDII scan/reader that is CAN Compliant. All new ACTRON readers are CAN compliant but rather then buy just a reader I suggest a scan gauge. For $169 it'll do so much more then just read and clear codes. ScanGaugeII - Trip Computers + Digital Gauges + Scan Tool |
