Airbox/airfilter question Hello everyone. I replaced my stock filter with a K&N. I noticed when I did this there is another type of filter inside the main part of the box. Does anyone know what this is? Do I really need it in there? Can it be removed? I have never seen anything like this and any help would be great. I would like to try and do a airbox mod on it without spending the $300.00 bucks. Thanks for all and any help. Aaron

Well it feels like the truck has more power. I bet it'll get better gas mileage as well. I haven't checked on that as of yet. With the k&N, and the other gone, there is not a hesitation, like I use to have.

Also, after I did this mod, I threw away the top plastic engine cover. Why, you ask? Well, I was thinking about heat affecting the throttle body. It would seem realistic to believe that with the engine heat rising up, that the engine cover would keep that heat from escaping and would keep it up around the throttle body. So, I decided to toss it. My Baby didn't run this good when I bought her.

Is the secondary filter in the box the one that backs up against the standard airfilter - has a wire mesh facing on it? And if it is, how did you get it out? I was looking to take it out but couldn't find anywhere to get a grip on it.
