Clicking Sound in New FJ ?

Hello Everyone,

This is my first post in the forums, nice to meet all yall.

I have a question that i hope someone can help me with. I have been the proud owner of a new FJ Crusier
for a few weeks now (I LOVE IT!). My question pertains to this... I have the automatic transmission and when i put it into drive, i hear a click sound. The sound is not continuous, it is just the one click when putting it into drive. It makes this sound only after i have started to pull out (like maybe 5-10 feet of the vehicle moving). I am calling it a click because i cannot really describe the sound. You might say it sounds more like some sort of trigger rather than a click and it is not loud.

Does anyone else with auto-trans hear this sound on their fj ? Does anyone know what it is or have an idea of what it might be?

Just don't know if it is normal or something to be concerned about.

Thanks,
Eb

Thanks for the reply, but na it isn't the seat belt because the sound is coming from inside the dashboard right near the steering column. (sorry i should have made it more clear where the sound was coming from in my first post)

Take it to the dealer. It's still under warranty, isn't it? If there is something wrong with it and it's fixable, there shouldn't be any charge to you.
