FJ Cruiser vs Jeep Rubicon

I am about to purchase a new vehicle. I have owned 5 Toyota Lancruisers over the years including two FJ 40s, an FJ 55, an FJ 60 and a 1998 Landcruiser with the V8 which was my least favorite, too civilized. They have all been great vehicles. I know little about the new FJ Cruiser, but have looked at the Jeep Rubicons which are about the same price. Anyone out there had experience with Jeep Wranglers, good or bad? My instincts tell me to go with the Toyota FJ, but the Jeep Rubicon has many nice features. I am hoping that someone out there owns an FJ Cruiser now that used to own a Wrangler.

FJ vs Rubicon

I've owned an FJ for 16 months. Love it. My son (age 25) recently purchased a new 4 dr rubicon. My opinion, the FJ is a better everyday driver but the rubicon is better off road. The FJ has a lot more get up and go on the road and I think better handling, but the Jeep just takes seems to take the sand and rocks a little easier.

My FJ with Toyo Open Country tires run circles around my buddy's Rubicon in the mud. Granted, his tires aren't as aggressive, but I think I could take him regardless of what sorta rubber he had on. Plus, you have to like working on Jeeps to like a Jeep.
