Yer right about that rear view man! Ther ain't much of it. I was thinking about that camera deal myself. Sounds like a good solution.

I put the 2" round on both mirrors THE day I bought my FJ. I have since upgraded to 3" as it makes a better view of what is coming. This is a big help inreducing any blind spot the FJ has and if trained correctly you will never miss having bigger windows. Also put towards the outter most part of the mirror and I recomend getting the adjustable once mounted model.

Side Mirrors & Blind Spots

The hardest thing is getting used to driving with your mirrors our like that, but once you get used to it you have such an easier time knowing your blind spots are not as invisible as they used to be.
I agree...but would recommend going even a little further (so you don't see the door handles). This is one of the hardest things to explain to young drivers and can only come with confidence gained over time. Properly-adjusted side mirrors work - believe it!

But I have to pass on words of wisdom from a friend who is a spirited driver and Italian...she had the rear-view mirror pushed up and out of the way and would say, "wha's behind - ees not 'portant".

I've invented a device called the Interior Blind Spot Mirror which is installed inside the vehicle to serve as the continuation of the exterior side rear view mirror. This mirror has proven superior to all the competitors in completely eliminating the blind spots. The square styled mirror is perfect for SUVs and trucks.

Hi guys and gals, my first post. I love my FJ, however my wife who drives it the most really can't stand the outside mirrors to the point of "I do not want to drive this vehicle, get rid of it, trade it for a jeep" I've looked at the stickons, and have tried many adjustments for her but she's still uncomfortable with these mirrors. I have scoured the web and cannot find real replacement mirrors for this vehicle, so here I am. I specifically want to buy and install fully functional replacement mirrors. The company, or individual that comes out with these is going to make alot of $$$. Please, has anybody found direct replacement mirrors that work? Thank you in advance, Steve

I put on a pair of the rectangular ones, they are available at most truck stops. they are about 2x3 inch's. They are also curved somewhat. The plastic housing that holds the mirror is thicker on one end more so then the other to give the mirror some angle. they totally did away with my blind spots from where i sit.

You are not going to get near the view the convex mirrors have just by adjusting your mirrors. I've driven trucks and cargo vans for years. But however i have to say most people don't know how to use their mirrors. They'd rather crane their neck around like Linda Blair in The Excorcist.

I agree with the posters who use blind spot mirrors. I have the larger rectangular mirrors that are mounted on the bottom portion of the mirror (they fit so that the bottom area is covered). That leaves the entire top part of the mirror (from the top of the angle) available, which is about the same area as the mirrors on a jeep. They work so well, I can see any vehicles in the mirrors when they are right beside me.
