Stubbie Antenna

Has anyone installed an AMI Stubbie Antenna? They have antennas ranging from 3" to 21" and claim "improved reception". I would like to hear from anyone who has experienced their performance "in the field". Thanks, Hattrick

Can't tell you if they're better than the ones on the FJ but I can tell you that they are better than most OEM antennas due to them having more surface area that helps in receiving the radio signal. I live a long ways from any Big City so they're used around here to help with reception.

By the way, to the site it's been awfully lonely around here. HAHAHA.

Thanks. I'm going to give it a try. My wife and I have "issues" with the stock FJ antenna when we're in the woods and that thing is whipping back and forth and smacking the truck! BTW, beautiful pooch! Where was the picture taken? Hattrick

I just ordered a 21". I'll let you know what I think when I have a chance to try it out. Take care.

Rubber stubbies

I put rubber stubbies on my and my wife's FJ's. I picked them up at NAPA for about $8 each. They look great and seem to work fine. No noticeable loss of reception, and they're very flexible, so won't whip around, bend, or break. Hope this helps!

I ordered the 21 inch antenna that you spoke of and it does increase reception and look very good on the FJ. Only thing is that they are not flexible in the least. I unscrew it when I go through the carwash to be on the safe side.
