X-JACK review

I just purchased the X-Jack exhaust-driven jack for my FJ. I unpacked it tonight, tried it on my FJ under perfect conditions (outside my garage) and I will be putting it back in the mail tomorrow morning. The concept is good but it needs several improvements.

First, despite many queries no one could tell me whether the X-Jack nozzle would fit around my TRD Exhaust tip. It does not. Regardless, even on a normal exhaust (my other car), the nozzle would not stay on when the car was turned on. Hence, the inflation is a two man operation. One person needs to squat behind the vehicle and hold the nozzle in place while the other adjusts the bag and keeps the hose from kinking. In addition, once the bag inflates to the point of touching the frame of the vehicle, inflation is slow, slow, slow. I went back to see the promo videos X-Jack put out and noticed that they spliced the video (time lapse) in order to make it seem like it's quick and easy. By the time my car was off the ground, I could have taken two wheels off with a hi-lift jack. My knees killed me from squatting for so long behind my car holding the nozzle and breathing fumes. I do not think the product would be any help in tough situations.

I hope this review helps anyone who is trying to decide between a traditional hi-lift or an X-Jack. I applaud the company's creativity but the product has a ways to go before it can beat a hi-lift.

Thanks for the heads-up. Was looking at one of these myself, but wasn't sure it would work like they advertised. Sorry it didn't work for you, but glad you didn't HAVE to use it.
