I am a diehard Amsoil motor oil user. I have used it in the last two cars I have owned and been extremely pleased. The FJ call for 5W30 and I have just switched to the SSO-0W30 High performance Synthetic and also run their long life EAO-57 filter which is what it calls for in the Amsoil cross reference. I noticed that the EAO-57 is slightly different in two ways. It is just a tiny bit smaller, but the biggest difference is that the rubber seal fits different. The original filter rubber oil seal is smaller and has a thin raised section. The Amsoil is a fatter rubber oil gasket seal, but because the filter is a tiny bit smaller, it seats towards the inner portion of the smooth seating screw on section. What I mean is that the gasket only seats and touches about I guess 60% of the 100% that it could seal on. My guess is 40% of the inner gasket is not touching the smooth area for the gasket to seal against like the over so slightly larger OEM. Any amsoil guys who'd know of a larger but same thread Amsoil filter for 2008 FJ. Really good super heavy rubber sealing oil filter gaskets on the Amsoil 25,000 mile filters so I'm not to worried, but why not find a slightly larger perfectly fitting Amsoil filter with same threading and larger dimensions if able. Anyone know?? Any Amsoil guroos out there whom have the answer before I'm forced to call them. Thanks in advance, and I only go 7500 before a change in oil each time. That's about all I can stomache before I have to get my hands dirty one way or another.
Thanks
