Magnum Force Stage 2 Si Cold Air Intake System

Anyone try the Magnum Force Stage 2 Si Cold Air Intake System? I'm looking for a new intake and was wondering what they are like. How do these systems do in hot vs. cold weather? How much increase in horsepower can I expect? Anything else I should know?

Cold Air Intake

I don't know anything specifically about the magnum force intake. I am familiar with the K&N version. I have had them in several of my vehicles and love them, and have most recently installed one in the FJ. Install takes less than 1 hour with simple tools. K&N calims approx. 12 HP increase. My seat of the pants dyno agrees. Definately gives the FJ an extra kick in the ass when you put your foot in it (not that it really needed it) and the sound that it makes will get a great reaction from your passengers and nearby motorists. It makes the engine noise just slightly louder at normal throttle but lets out one hell of a growl at wide open throttle. I'll try to snap a photo tomorrow.

Thanks Stalm - that's exactly the info I needed. How much did your K&N run you? I think my replacing the original air intact is going to be a must. I hate having that carbon filter behind the air filter in the original setup. It just seems like more of an obstruction in the air intact than anything else.

price

I believe I paid $325 for it. I honestly dont remember where I purchased it from. I just shopped round on the net and found the cheapest price I could with free shipping. Here is a link to the cheapest one I just found. $298.83 including shipping. Amazon.com: K&N 63-9030 Air Charger: Automotive

Thanks Stalm. It says in the marketing text that it lasts up to 100,000 before service is required. That can't mean the air filter can it?

The filter itself sould last past 100,000 miles before it needs to be replaced. It's made from cotton gauze not paper. It still needs regular cleaning (every 10,000 miles or so) which is very simple, just warm water and filter cleaner which K&N sells, then let dry, re-oil and re-install.
