| Here it is installed on one bad ass machine! This is a member of fjcruiserforums.com This is the first "customer" supercharged FJ in the US, from URD. Demello's was the first. The truck dynos at 380hp. (Edit... as of February '07 it is at 400+ after a new 3" URD exhaust and Y- ![]() What's it like? You'll smoke everything on the road. The Rotrex blower comes in gradually at about 3000 rpm. A faint whistle from the engine compartment winds up. Look down at the speedo and you're going 30mph faster than you thought you were. Suddenly you're passing everybody like a train. Slow down! Back off the pedal and you get a cool whoosh sound from the popoff valve. My last was a '98 M3 and I'm pretty sure this is faster. ![]() The TRD supercharger protoype at SEMA was pathetic - less than 50hp gain. Since the FJ is so cheap I splurged and went upmarket to URD which has been doing this for years on . 80-100Hp increase. No reliability issues. They were also a huge help on my whole build. Highly recommended. It seemed prudent to get StopTech 355mm , which required 18" wheels. These are American Racing Chamber Black Teflons. The brakes were a good call. I am using all Donahoe; front, rear, UCA and new jounce shocks. ![]() In the dash are an Eclipse AVN55 and a Motion Computing PC. The stereo was the first build item, including 3 Alpine PDX amps under the front seats, JL Audio 10's in custom rear enclosures, and MB Quart 3-way components in the doors and C-pillars. Hey, this is an inexpensive car, remember? On the PC is DeLorme TopoUSA. For those of you unfamiliar with it, this software combines the best features of your GPS navigator with Google Earth, plus more. I got this primarily so my wife thinks that I know where I'm going. ![]() And what better place to send this post from than the right seat. If you look at the exterior shots above you'll see a little white dome on the roof - that's a marine (Furuno) GPRS relay antenna that cuts in when the normal cellular internet connection is lost out in the sticks. So we don't have to rough it, of course. The bumper is Expedition One, and on the roof with the High-lift are a PullPal sand anchor, and Blitz jerry cans that I did a custom mount for. Again, I must thank all you great folks on this forum for all the above. My family and I will have great times because of your expert advice and knowledge. I hope to meet all of you in Ouray in July! __________________ Air2air's Supercharged FJ | Video | Crunch! Engine 400 HP. URD Supercharger; URD 3" straight exhaust, Y-pipe.
