FJ Battery Life

Hi Kids,

My 2007 FJ just turned 75,000 the other day and while the battery is still fine, I start getting nervous after 60,000 with factory batteries. I don't want to end up in the middle of a pheasant hunt with a dead battery at 5 degree's and a 25mph wind.

Anybody have a battery go dead on them yet, and if so, when did it happen?

Also, does anyone have experience with the new solid-state Optima batteries.

Thanks guys

I get nervous at the 3 year mark since I've had a few OEM batteries die right around there. As for the optima you might want to look at the odyssey too. Cost a little more but I think they are a much better battery for heavy duty use. ODYSSEY Batteries
Here's a nice video Stang TV : SEMA 2006: Bruce Essig of Odyssey Batteries at SEMA '06
