perplexing electrical problem

a real head scratcher
but it could be so simple i am not seeing it.
hey what isn't these days?

72 fj40.

new batt.
power OK from batt to amp guage. (W)
power OK from amp gauge to alt (WB), ign switch (RB) and fuse panel (W)

ign switch OK

fuses 5, 6, 7 (output side ) no voltage

disconnect BY, GR, LR wires output side of fuses 5,6,7 voltage restored !

disconnect spark control computer, output side voltage restored !

hotwired starter at ign switch no result
in fact voltage at RB wire drops to zero when hotwired

starter will work when jumped across terminals at starter

engine will start when igniter (coil) and starter are hard wired from batt.

regulator= WR , WG both hot until WB is attached
alt= main WL hot, WG hot, WB zero

unplugged everything, headlights horns, rear heater, all switches

reg= all hot
alt= all hot

is this all being caused by the spark control computer ?
can i get one ?

can it be bypassed?

thanks,

journey46
