Satellite Radio Issues

2008 FJ

Had Toyota factory satellite stereo (Sirius) installed when purchased. Since the beginning I haven't been happy with the loss of reception issues or the "delay" when switching to a different satellite station. The obvious reception loss (under bridges, garages etc) is acceptable, but I'm routinely losing the signal just driving down the road. It's just for short intervals (3-4 sec), but it shouldn't be happening. I've had satellite in 3 other autos and have never had the problem I'm getting now.

I'm not sure if the antenna picks up more than one satellite (GPS), but my guess is the tiny little "pillow mint" antenna is the problem. Also, there is always a 3-4 second delay when I turn the dial, even one notch, to a new satellite station. Very annoying!!

Saw on other blogs that folks are having several issues with the stereos and haven't been getting a lot of love from the dealers. I'm going to the dealer for a LOF and am going to bring the issue up. Just wanted to know if anyone has any opinions or advice before I go.

Thx, skeats
