I can use the rear view mirror fairly well, because I am pretty tall and can see a lot over the spare tire. However if you are short in stature then I predict thatyou might have to ensure that the seat adjustment is giving you enough height to use the rear view mirror.

There is a blind-spot to your rear, if someone in a small car decides to tailgate you. I have seen this occur.... however it merely an annoyance.
