ok just got back from a trip 2.5 hrs pulling my 5000 lbs travel trailer with the fj. it ran in 4th almost all the time. sucked gas like crazy but handled pretty good.i may have had about 6000lbs with all my stuff on the trailer.the engine seemed fine. my hitch is a hidden hitch that has all the extra x bars under it. sway bars ,brakes.but my shifter says 4d , its a 2007. cant realy see how to keep it in 4th and not overdrive. even though it is most of the time anyway. will it burn up the trany? how do i stop the lock up to od.? I plan on taking my camper on some long halls pretty soon. any help?
