Towing Uhaul trailer with FJ Cruiser

Hello,

I am moving from Dallas to Los Angeles area and am planning on towing a 6x12 uhaul trailer full of furniture with my 2007 FJ Cruiser.

the specs of the trailer can be found here

U-Haul: Moving equipment guide: Moving trucks, cargo trailers, utility trailers, vehicle trailers

I actually loaded the trailer today and will be starting the trip this friday or saturday.

I dont have much experience towing with the FJ and was a little worried about making such a long trip after driving across town with the fully loaded trailer. The FJ seemed to be struggling quite a bit, but then again maybe it's just me not being used to towing with it.

The trailer weighs 1800 pounds empty and I've got it pretty packed with furniture. I highly doubt I've put enough in there to exceed the 5000 pound towing capacity but I'm still a bit worried since its such a long trip (1500 miles or so).

I'm guess I'm looking for reassurance and/or tips from people with experience towing similiar loads across similiar distances with an FJ cruiser.

Judging from what i read in the "Towing With the FJ" thread it seems that I should be driving with the automatic transmission in 4th gear.

Anything else I should/could be doing to reduce the strain on the FJ and make the trip smoother?
