I have the Toyo M/T Open Country. These are my first set of true mudders. I alway had ATs before (Wranglers and a couple others I forgot). The Toyo were the most expensive tires I ever bought (about $300 each) but they have held up very well. I have about 43,000 on them now and from the looks of it, I could probably get another 43,000. I had all the same concerns as you. I do alot of over-the-road driving and these tires are holding up better than I expected. I always heard that you would only get about 40,000 out of mudders. And while they are not as quiet at my old A/Ts, they are not as bad as most of the mudders out there. Oh, and they kick butt in the mud! Hope this helps.
