I added an additional fuse block under the dash. I wired it straight to the battery with a 40 amp fuse. Then connected it to the ignition with a 30 amp relay, so it's only powered with the key. Did not take much time, and it works great. I did go with a marine grade fuse block, rather than a cheapy from an auto store. I think it was about $15.00.
