From the Edmunds' comparison of the two, they preferred the FJ, but it was close, and it they were both stock. Some of the advantages of the FJ, such as being smoother on washboard roads, and its lower center of gravity could change depending on the particular aftermarket coil-overs, rear springs, wheel off-sets, and tires.

For me the big advantage of the Xterra is the four independently operated doors, same reason I drive a crew cab instead of a king cab truck. But I could see myself maybe driving an FJ but probably not a Xterra. Lol

The new 4 door Jeep might be interesting, but I haven't been very impressed with D.C. products, but a comparison between it and the FJ or Xterra, (especially by the same people that compared them to each other .... link in post #2) would be interesting.
